1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your jurisdiction to use the Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to keep your login credentials confidential. We reserve the right to require identity verification before content is published or monetized. Failure to comply may result in suspension or termination.

4. Content Quality Guidelines

epubs.ai exists to empower authors by making publishing accessible, ethical, and rewarding. To protect readers, authors, and the quality of our marketplace, all books published on epubs.ai must meet the following content standards.

Originality & Intellectual Property

• All content must be your original work or used with clear rights and permissions
• Plagiarism, content scraping, or unauthorized use of copyrighted material is strictly prohibited
• Public domain content must be properly attributed, meaningfully transformed, or presented in a unique way

AI Usage Disclosure

We support responsible use of AI as a tool — not a replacement.

• AI-Generated Content (text, images, or translations created entirely by an AI tool) must be disclosed at the time of publishing
• AI-Assisted Content (content you wrote yourself with AI help for editing, research, idea generation, or refinement) does not require disclosure
• Authors are expected to remain in creative control of their work and may not publish fully AI-generated books under misleading pretense

Minimum Quality Standards

To ensure readability and professionalism, all published books must meet these minimum standards:

• Complete Manuscripts Only: Your book must be finished. Incomplete drafts or "preview-only" content is not allowed
• Minimum Chapter Requirement: Books must include at least 6 chapters
• Proper Formatting: Content should be cleanly formatted with clear paragraph structure, consistent fonts, and appropriate spacing
• Basic Proofreading: While perfect grammar isn't required, submissions must be free of excessive typos, spelling errors, and structural issues
• Narrative Coherence: Books should have a logical flow and story arc (fiction or nonfiction)
• No Placeholder or Filler: Content that includes gibberish, stock filler, or templated spam will be removed

Metadata Accuracy

The information you provide about your book must truthfully reflect its content.

• Using keywords unrelated to your book to game discovery is prohibited
• Misleading titles, author names, or series references are not allowed
• Stuffing metadata fields with promotional text is prohibited

Cover and Image Standards

Your book's cover is the first impression — it must be clear, professional, and accurate.

• Full-size Images Required: Do not upload cropped or partial covers
• Minimum Resolution: Cover images must be at least 1,400 pixels on the shortest side and at least 300 DPI
• Vertical Orientation Recommended: 1:1.5 aspect ratio (e.g., 1400x2100 pixels)
• No Watermarks or Distracting Labels
• No Offensive or Misleading Imagery, unless appropriately marked as adult content and genre-accurate
• AI-generated cover art must comply with visual and licensing ethics

Prohibited Content

epubs.ai will not allow content that contains or promotes:

• Hate speech, racism, or discrimination
• Sexual content involving minors, exploitation, or non-consensual acts
• Violence or abuse glorification
• Misleading or false information passed as factual
• Books created purely for spam, SEO manipulation, or artificial listing volume
• Mass-produced low-quality content with minimal or no variation

4. Use of AI and Content Generation

Our Platform enables users to create ebooks using artificial intelligence tools. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy, legality, and originality of any AI-generated content before publishing. You may not submit prompts designed to generate content that replicates or emulates known copyrighted works, personalities, characters, or universes. You represent and warrant that your content is original or properly licensed, and does not infringe on the rights of others.

5. Publishing and Revenue Sharing

You may publish content and earn money through monetization features. Our revenue share and payment terms are outlined in your dashboard and may change at any time. We may impose minimum payout thresholds and withhold or reverse earnings for any reason. You are solely responsible for any taxes or tax filings arising from your earnings. We may issue applicable tax forms as required by law.

6. Content Ownership and License Grant

You retain ownership of your content, provided you have the rights to publish it. By publishing on epubs.ai, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, sublicensable, royalty-free license to use, distribute, monetize, promote, and host your content. Once content has been monetized, promoted, or used on the Platform, you may not revoke the license or remove the content without our consent. We reserve the right to use your name, likeness, pen name, and content title in connection with marketing or platform promotion.

7. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You may not publish or generate content that:

• Infringes on copyright, trademarks, or publicity rights
• Contains pornographic, violent, or hateful material
• Is designed to game the system or exploit platform vulnerabilities
• Is scraped, copied, plagiarized, or substantially similar to third-party works

You may not:

• Reverse engineer or tamper with the Platform
• Artificially inflate engagement or revenue
• Evade our monitoring, moderation, or licensing checks

8. Copyright and DMCA Policy

We comply with the DMCA. If you believe your copyrighted work has been used unlawfully:

• Provide your full legal name and contact info
• Describe the original work and infringing content
• Submit a good-faith statement and your electronic/physical signature

9. Termination and Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice. This includes:

• Violations of any clause herein

• Refusal to verify identity or provide licensing documentation

Termination is final and non-contestable. We are under no obligation to reinstate any account or content.

10. No Guarantee of Platform Availability or Monetization

We make no guarantees regarding:

• Earnings potential
• Feature availability
• Discoverability or algorithm exposure
• Acceptance by third-party publishing platforms

11. Disclaimers

The Platform is provided "as-is" without warranties. We are not liable for user-generated content or any results thereof.

12. Limitation of Liability

Our total liability is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount paid to us in the past 12 months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless epubs.ai from any claims, damages, or costs arising from:

• Your content
• Infringement allegations
• Your breach of these Terms or applicable laws

14. Third-Party Platform Compliance

If you use third-party publishing options (e.g., Apple Books, Kindle, Wattpad), you are solely responsible for complying with their respective terms.

15. Content Monitoring

We may, but are not obligated to, monitor or remove content. We disclaim liability for any delay or failure to do so.

16. Platform Changes and Discontinuation

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Platform at any time. You acknowledge we are not liable for loss of access, content, or earnings due to such changes.

17. User Warranties

You warrant that:

• All content is original or you hold necessary rights
• You will not impersonate others or falsify information
• You will comply with all applicable laws, including U.S. export restrictions and AI regulations

18. Right to Audit and Investigate

We may investigate your use of the Platform and request documentation to verify content ownership. Failure to cooperate may result in account suspension or forfeiture of earnings.

19. Withholding and Forfeiture of Earnings

We reserve the right to withhold or permanently forfeit earnings where content violates any provision of these Terms, is under dispute, or raises compliance concerns.

20. Publicity and Platform Promotion

You grant us the right to use your public profile information and content for promotional and editorial purposes in connection with the Platform.

21. Arbitration and Class Action Waiver

You agree to resolve all disputes via binding individual arbitration, administered by the American Arbitration Association. You waive your right to participate in class actions.

22. Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, war, internet outages, and legal changes.

23. Severability

If any provision is found invalid, the remainder of the Terms will remain in effect.

24. Survival of Terms

All clauses relating to intellectual property, warranties, limitation of liability, arbitration, and indemnity survive termination of your account or these Terms.

25. No Agency or Partnership

Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as creating a partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment relationship between you and epubs.ai.

26. Entire Agreement

These Terms, along with our Privacy Policy and other posted policies, constitute the full agreement between you and epubs.ai.
